Our products are designed to make whole-food cooking faster, easier, and more approachable without sacrificing flavor, quality, or common sense.
We make practical foods inspired by older ways of cooking and eating—updated for modern kitchens, busy schedules, and people who’d rather spend less time reading ingredient labels. Turns out most of the solutions were already here. We just made them easier to find.

Mundus is female founded, which mostly means one of us had the brilliant idea to become the product developer, label fixer, market hauler, recipe tester, email answerer, and person staring at a spreadsheet at 11:47 p.m. with snacks nearby. Glamorous? Not especially. Built with care and intention? Absolutely.

Mundus is based in Portland, Oregon, where the weather has moods and everyone has at least one strong opinion about food, of course. We make small-batch plant-based staples and dairy-free creamery items here with real ingredients, local ties, and the kind of stubborn optimism that keeps showing up with coolers full of vegan cream cheese.

LGBTQIA+ Founded
Mundus is LGBTQIA+ founded. That’s who’s behind the table, the labels, the recipes, and the very specific feelings about cream cheese. We know what it’s like when food, spaces, or people make you feel like an afterthought — or worse, a burden. Mundus is trying very hard not to make anyone feel like they have to explain why or where they belong.
Some decisions are easier when you expect to be around for the consequences.
Small improvements, repeated often, tend to become meaningful things.
Nature figured that out a long time ago.

Sourcing Matters
We believe ingredients should have a reason to be there besides “a consultant liked the mouthfeel.” Grains, nuts, seeds, vegetables, cultures — sturdy, familiar things that have been feeding people longer than anyone has been naming trends. Mundus starts there, with real food that does not require a decoder ring or a small act of emotional surrender. If something earns its place, it stays. If it needs a paragraph of excuses, it probably does not.

Better Together
Food has never been a solo project, no matter how many people try to put one heroic face on the package. It takes growers, makers, kitchens, markets, neighbors, weird little conversations, and somebody remembering to bring the good folding table. Mundus is built with that in mind: local when we can, collaborative when it makes sense, and always more interested in useful relationships than impressive-sounding ones. The best ideas usually arrive with dirt on their boots and no formal agenda.

Small Acts, often
We are not trying to save the world with a tub of dairy-free cream cheese, because that would be a lot to ask from cashews. But we do believe the small things count: what we use, what we waste, who we include, and whether the food we make helps someone feel a little more able to feed themselves well. That kind of responsibility does not need a dramatic speech. It just needs to keep showing up, doing the next right thing, and making room for more people at the table.
